Southbound is almost a month old! That’s a big deal when you’re just starting out (witness how new couples celebrate their “monthsaries”), and we’re just as excited about it as any lovestruck couple. So we’d like to introduce some new features to liven things up a bit.
First off, you’ve probably noticed that we do regular, every-other-day posts. Due to insistent public demand (that would be my sister, actually, hahaha) we’re going to start posting more often. Because we don’t want to overcommit (who does in a new relationship?), we’ll start with short “wala lang” posts interspersed with the more serious features first.
This is one of those “snippets.” They’ll be short, sweet, and sometimes silly. Expect random pictures, brief observations, and various sightings in the South (does anybody remember the time that someone spray painted a desperate message along the length of Concha Cruz? It started with an “I” just after the Standard gate, followed by something along the lines of I am sorry and I love you, delivered one word at a time, the way highway signs are: ie, STOP FULL. Such a shame I wasn’t able to take photos of that).
Anyway. This is a bit overdue, since I’ve been meaning to post a short guide to places that have Simbang Gabi hours in my immediate area. Still, better late than never. After all, you still have three days to go out and make the early mass, and what better time than now, when work begins to give way to the holiday vacation? Without further ado (how emceeish!), here is, to my limited knowledge at least, a list of places you can hit for breakfast after Misa de Gallo:
Alabang Town Center:
Dulcinea
Hen Lin (open 24 hours all the time anyway)
Deli France
Bizu
Starbucks Madrigal

Pancake House Madrigal
Westgate:
Café Adriatico
Café Breton
Gloria Jean’s
BF:
Mocha Blends

Pancake House BF

Tropical Hut (the original all nighter)
Sinangag Express (another 24 hour joint)
Le Four Bakery
Pilar Village:
Surfing this site makes me want to go home … waaahhhhhh! Everything looks sooooo good! :-)
Anne,
At least we get to bring you a little piece of home every day. :) Keep reading Southbound, and if you have any memories of your own to share, email ka lang! :D
