The Java Man is opening in the South! I spotted a Brewing Soon sign on one of the new buildings along Aguirre Avenue, near the corner of Tirona. The building is beside the one with Step Rite and already houses a Smokeys and a Fruits in Ice Cream. I cant wait for it to open.
The Java Man is the caf in Powerbooks Greenbelt. It serves a reasonably wide range of beverages: hot coffees, cold drinks, and their ice blended drinks, the Javaccino. They also have desserts and pastries.

The reason why I really love Java Man though is its food. They serve the absolute best Herbed Chicken with Herbed Rice (P185) Ive ever tasted! First timers may find the chicken a bit musty: that comes with having a lot of herbs, primarily thyme (and probably sage). But people who like their food well seasoned will love this (as I did the first time I tried it). The rice uses the same herbs as the chicken and accompanying gravy; its soft and has an almost risotto-like quality.

They also serve great sandwiches and pasta. I like the 3 Cheese Panini (P140), especially when its toasted just right. I also love the Carbonara (P145), which is perfectly made: a bit dry, with bits of creamy sauce adhering to the spaghetti, topped with crunchy crumbled bacon. They also offer meal combinations, so its easier to try a little bit of everything if youre the type who has to order everything on the menu.

Their Iced Tea’s (P58) not bottomless, but it’s a specially blended brew, so they’re forgiven for that.
It still looks like some time before theyll open the branch in BF, and I hope they serve their food and not just coffee so itll be worth the wait.
