Have Yourself… Some Spooky Eye Candy!

Dreamagination Boo Chocolates

October is upon us, and so is Halloween. The season for spooks and screams and tricks or treats is just around the corner. The malls are decked out in pumpkins, bats and cobwebs. Ghoulish masks are on display and, best of all, so are tons and tons of candy! It’s that time of year when kids (and grown-ups too!) dress in their scariest best to get goodies!

Now here’s a treat for us moms—and foodies, too! If youre tired of run-of-the-mill sweets, why not give these treats a try? Chocolates shaped like jack-o-lanterns and ghosts!

Dreamagination Pumpkin Cookies

They’re the “spook-tacular” creations of Dreamagination, the brainchild of Southern mom Jamie Arcega, who, as a subtle marketing ploy last year, gave away samples of her goodies to all the kids in her son’s class. They were neatly packaged in nice cellophane wrap, with ribbons and a personalized tag. With all her experience as a mom, she didn’t even use the lollipop sticks, lest the kids start poking their—or each other’s!—eyes out. It surely got the kids talking (and the moms too, who, I imagine, wanted to stab her in the back for proving that yes, even working moms can let loose their Martha Stewart tendencies and be creative).

They’re affordable at P10 - P25 each (prices vary depending on whether the pieces are plain, colored or handpainted chocolate, if they’re on a stick or not, and if the goodies are personalized with a tag). It’s a cool change from generic store-bought candies, which the trick or treaters (or their discriminating parents) will surely appreciate. Or, even as a small token for your friends that says, “Hey, you’re too old for trick or treating, but here’s some candy for you anyway!”

Dreamagination Choco Boo-quet

If you’re throwing a Halloween party for the kids on the block, the chocolate “boo”-quet makes a great centerpiece. Makes a great gift too for October celebrants! Prices start from P180 for 6 lollipops plus a reusable plastic jack-o-lantern base.

Lead time to order is 3-5 days. Delivery is free within Makati and Ortigas on weekdays and Las Piñas, Alabang and Parañaque on weekends.
