Unless long, scraggly hair (and that means facial hair, too!) is part of your Halloween ensemble, then it’s high time you should probably get a haircut (considering that the holiday season is fast approaching, best to start looking great!).
Just recently, my twins started sporting unruly do’s – their last haircut was about 10 months ago, at one of those kiddie “salons” which cost me an arm and a leg (or, as is the case with twins, all my limbs!) for a style that, literally, did not quite cut it. The “stylist” just hacked away and I had to look at my daughters’ uneven hair for weeks. That left me (ok, and maybe the kids, too) scarred and traumatized. That was the end of kiddie salons for me – no matter how cute their interiors were.
So naturally, like any money-wise mom, I found Wow! Salon’s prices unbelievable. Each time we drove by, their huge red and black posters really caught my attention.

Seriously, where can you get a haircut (with shampoo and blowdry!) for 40 pesos (other than the barber shop along the riles in Laguna where I am seriously considering getting my son’s hair cut – but that, of course, is another story)? If the kiddie salon “hacked” away for close to three hundred bucks, can you imagine what could possibly go wrong for forty?

Apparently, nothing. In fact, Wow! Salon is a testament to how you CAN still get value for your hard-earned money. The interiors are clean and bright, with two rows of mirrors and black leather chairs for your hair styling needs, another section with comfy black leather armchairs for manicures and pedicures, and even a little room at the back for facials.
The staff is friendly, and attuned to your needs, always asking your preferences and suggesting some styles, too. (And because the twins were only 2 and half years old, my styles were limited to “May bangs po ba o wala?”)

The ordeal was over and done with in less than 15 minutes, and I was quite happy with their haircuts. (No mommy guilt-trips for making my twins the guinea pigs for penny pinching!) On my way out, I saw other moms with kids in tow. Just goes to show that Wow! Salon is fast turning into a neighborhood “beauty bar” what with their affordable prices and efficient service.
I’m planning a return trip for myself – imagining that my P500 will get me great hair and gorgeous nails with enough left over for some funnel cake next door. Now if only there was a Wow! Gym with membership for P40….
Wow! Hair Salon
9 President’s Avenue,

(Peeps, share the location of Wow! Hair Salons near you! I remember passing by one along
There’s another Wow! Hair Salon branch in Dona Soledad Ave. Better Living Subd. (across Tropical Hut grocery and beside a photo/printing shop). This is really a practical choice esp for girls who just want a dose of their regular trims + hot oil treatments. And Jamie’s right about the lighting - ang aliwalas, parang nakakaganda :D
But based from experience, if you want for more stylish ‘dos and more lasting hair treatments, go to more..errr…”expensive salons” (ung mga P150++ up ung range, hahaha). :-)
I agree Jamie. Their haircut charge is unbelievable. I just hope that that particular branch? or franchise? keeps the cleanliness and homey ambiance. Kasi the one at Pamplona did not maintain its service, physical outlook, cleanliness…parang tipong you pay 40 pesos for a 40 peso service talaga. I used to go there but now mabuti pa sa Colonial Barbers near Philam Gate. You pay 70 pesos for a 250 haircut. may kasama pang kwentong barbero dun.
maam,
ahahaha, importante yung kwentong barbero… is that where you get your material? ;)
And I thought pinakamura na yung 49.95 ng Reyes Haircutters? Competition is good for customers.
oo nga ano betts…come to think of it,my lolo was a barbero and i remember spending my afternoons watching him snip snip snip while exchanging stories with a client. Galing!
closed na yung funnel cake resto na katabi ng wow :(
ay how sad… :( well, last i saw, buhay pa yung nasa filinvest. sigh… another one bites the dust.
President’s ave is a long strip. So when you wrote 9 President’s Avenue, Tahanan Village, meaning it’s near Tahanan Village? Coz there’s no Presidents ave inside Tahanan. Any land marks?
it’s on president’s ave just outside tahanan village, across citra mina and miggy’s.
i accompanied my mother to the salon for a hair color treatment. she developed a grave allergic reaction to the the dye. so much for being cheap.
Pagoofyt (?) not just for kids barber shop did alright with my son’s haircut. That’s also in BF.
They have a branch too along Boni Avenue ..just in front of San Francisco Gardens Condo …I regularly have my foot spa and haircut there. Cool saloon … nice interiors well lighted and clean.
Mas mukhang ok pa yung Extension Salon sa my las pinas branch nila.Lahat naman ng salon pag mukha kang mahirap hindi ka nila aasikasuhin.I’ve experienced that before when sometimes na ngpagupit ako sa F SALON sa MOONWALK branch nila sa las pinas.nakapambahay lang kasi ako nun as in mukhang dukha, aba ang kilay ng mga stylist nila abot hanggang hairline nila.tapos hindi talaga ako nila inasikaso ever kaya umalis na lang ako, pero before i left talagang nagparinig ako sa knila na “dapat na silang magsara kung mamimili lang sila ng customer na pusturang mayaman” ndi nila alam most of their customers is yung crowd na malapit sa kanila. What do they expect?ska hindi lahat ng ganun ang itsura walang pambayad,HELLER!!..Kaya nga dapat yung mga ganyang stylist dapat tinuturuan muna ng mabuting pakikitungo sa customer.
i would like to comment on the manager of wow salon malibay branch…i have been a customer for years but sad to say as years go by, the staff and the manager especially had become so unprofessional..asal kalye kung baga..you can hear all profanities in them..nawawala ang pagka class..im just wondering if the owner let them have a monthly about how they should behave PROFESSIONALLY… MASYADONG MAYABANG ANG BRANCH MANAGER..AKALA MO KNG SINO MAGSALITA..
A MONTHLY SEMINAR I MEAN FOR BEHAVIORAL REFINEMENT…MUKHANG MALAKAS SA MAY-ARI ANG BRANCH MANAGER E…
I really like the service of WOW Salon..I tried their rebond (super cheap) but the quality is awesome. It is not damaged and dry :) why pay high if you can have your hair maintenance here…. nice staffs, great price :)
have you guys tried their rebonding service? or san pa pwedeng magparebond na maganda?
I’m not recommending this salon, especially their BF branch. I had a bad experience; one of their stylist wounded my ear with a blade. Blood literally trickled across my face! That kind of inconvenience isn’t really worth 40 bucks.
pwede po b makuha address nyo and tel #? 4 inquiries? pls.
good day….can i apply for work as a salon assistant?i was able to work with you ma’am sir but unfortunately i have decided to resign from work….hope you could give me another chance…thank you very much and more power.God Bless
i am from cavite but i can work anywhere if you find me qualified for the position…thank you again…
i had my hair rebonded today, i started 2:30pm, the salon attendant put the rebonding medicine onto my hair and it hurt my sensitive scalp it was very painful i told her to rinse it off after 20mins but she insisted 45 mins. after painstakingly enduring the pain in my scalp for 45 mins i requested to have my hair rinsed but the salon attendant “rose” was out for a break and another guy attendant told me “kumain lang po para may lakas sya pagnagplantsa na sya sa buhok nyo”. For 45 mins she went out to eat? I insisted that they rinse it off so they did. after that i was shocked that my natural hair got really rubberized, curly and it seemed burnt. i complained but rose kept telling me “paplantsahin pa po yan” then when she was already ironing my hair, i told her to pls fix my hair partition and she said “mamaya na po” she was ironing aimlessly and she doesnt seem like she has a lot of rebonding experience. After ironing she put neutralizer and i noticed that the hair on top of my head was really hard and coarse to touch, it felt like a rug and a doormat! i remeber her putting the rebonding solution on my hairline, baby hair and my patilya! the hair on top of my head got burned. it seems nothing was wrong because my hair was really ironed flat and straight but when the other salon attendants touched the top of my head they all said “matigas nga po”. Rose was arrogant and the other guy who kept on meddling who also is a salon staff. They finished at 9pm so i was there for almost 7 hours! to think that i only want a retouch rebond which i made clear to them from the very beginning. i paid but i really want my refund. when i went there, my natural hair was fine and perfect except that the partition from where it was rebonded was now a bit obvious so i wanted to take that out thru a semi/mild sort of rebond and what your WOW salon Boni ave cor. vergara branch did was to ruin my hair. please if you will not refund me as i understand there is an economic crisis, i just want to let your management know na hindi porket mura kayo eh bababa na ang quality nyo lalo na sa rebond very crucial po yun and you need to hire experts. wow salon for me now is wow hassel at wow tagal. very poor performance and service for clients po to the said branch
sure aqoh mgnda service nla ung friend qo kac nagparebond dyan hangang naun straight p rin hair nia
