BoNa Coffee and Bohemian Nation Trading Co. Open Their Doors in Westgate

breakfast and a drink at the new BoNa in Westgate

BoNa Coffee has set out on its plan to conquer the world, and it’s done so in style! Well, alright, they’re not really out to conquer the world—though there are plans of expansion to Makati, Mall of Asia, and China—but they sure are expanding and growing their distinctive brand, and they’ve started with a new branch in Westgate.

the trademark BoNa wall

the branch in Westgate is big enough for a bar

The café in Westgate (near Fitness First and Kanin Club) is bigger and brighter (literally—the walls aren’t tinted this time, which makes for a slightly different, but no less cozy, atmosphere), but it’s pretty much the same BoNa: the menu is the same, a lot of the faces are the same, they’ve got their own oven churning out freshly baked muffins too (not as much variety yet as the branch in BF, but I’m sure they’ll get there soon), they’ve still got free wifi, and they’ve even got the same Buddha-esque figure serenely grazing the walls. And whaddyaknow, it still feels like home (I’m almost embarrassed to admit that it felt so much like home, I actually spent a whole day there last week).

Aside from the café, the complex (called The Serenity Place) also houses the Bohemian Nation Trading Co., a delightful curio-cum-furniture-cum-jewelry shop selling all manner of Indian imports, from doors to lamps to busts to bracelets. A visit here is a must for artists, designers, architects, and culture aficionados of all stripes; it’s a pleasure to browse through their very reasonably priced collection (and when I say reasonably priced, try to remember that these are huge antique doors and adornments with chunky gems and precious stones, so they’re not exactly cheap either).

Soon to complete The Serenity Place’s lineup are a salon and spa, which drive home the whole point of their name: a place for serene days sipping good drinks and eating healthy food, appreciating sublime works of art, being pampered and “prettified,” and enjoying the pleasures of a good massage.

  2. iya,

yes, it’s such a great location… pwedeng pang after-gym snack (hahaha, nag gym na, binawi pa by eating! pero may protein shake naman sila, so bagay naman pang workout…) or after-grocery meal. also another option for coffee after meals, in addition to ucc and cafe breton. :)
