First post using my new toy–er, tool

It’s a beautiful sunny morning (if you ignore the felled trees you’d never know a typhoon passed this way recently) and I’m enjoying it (as usual) with breakfast (OK, lunch) at McDonald’s in Northgate (free wifi). I’ve got my bottle of Mineshine, a six-piece chicken nuggets (missed the breakfast menu by thirty minutes), and, most importantly, my newest tool in the ongoing effort to keep Southbound afloat despite my day job: a Lenovo s10-2. :) (Nothing like new tools to keep you inspired; and if those tools are light, they keep your back healthy and keep the chiropractor away too.)

Thus far I’ve installed the necessities (and only the necessities–my loyal old Presario keeps all the heavy apps and gets elevated to a dignified position as desktop, to bolster my home office setup that now has newly-restored DSL) and I’m ready to go and make my first post. A few last installs, though–Photoshop andDreamweaver–before my mobile office gets up to speed (hence the lack of photos–I’m not about to edit my images using Paint or MS Picture Manager).

In the meantime, I just wanted to say hi to all my fellow Southbound-ers: enjoy the weekend folks, and watch out for some new posts this week! :)

  1. Just wondering, are you free-lancing again? :)

  2. MineShine + McNuggets! I do that too! How do you like the new MineShine packaging?

    I’ll miss Northgate. :-(

  3. oceanlite,

nope, still have my day job… but doing my darndest to fit southbound into my schedule as well, hence the importance of on-the-go equipment (that doesn’t need to be plugged in after 30 minutes, hahaha).

    dat!

love mcdo and 7-11 all in one convenient location! and on sundays parking is actually easy. :) new mineshine packaging = very british countryside, hahaha! liked the regal blue bottle better. but as long as it tastes the same, i’m good. :)
