The Laid Back South Blogger Date

What do you get when you take two bloggers, a Southern lifestyle, and Valentine’s Day fever? You get a laid back date with pictures and a post to show for it! Jayvee and Phoebe check out some of their favorite spots in the South for a lazy Friday pre-Valentines date.

Driving Off the Roof

Check out the new driving range on the rooftop of the new building at the end of Aguirre, as Jayvee takes you there via video. No, he didn’t whack some of the roof yet, he’s just sniffing around.

Climbing the Walls at SM

My friend Chris and I have started this “OK-we-need-to-exercise-but-it-has-to-be-fun” thing recently. Instead of being gym buddies, which is a difficult proposition since Chris lives in Valle Verde (but is an honorary Southerner, given the ease with which you can drag her here), we decided to do a fun but physically challenging activity regularly, the idea […]

Wargames the Airsoft Way

Here I am, hung over on the long holiday: I considered a posting holiday of my own, since I haven’t been out and about much recently (sometimes the most peaceful vacations are the ones we spend at home… though of course, there aren’t too many nice pictures to show for it). Instead, I dug through […]

Coming Home to Roost: The Story of the United Pigeon Society

Tucked away in a simple unassuming lot in one of the industrial compounds along Sucat Road is the home of a most unusual community of friend and fowl. This compound, known as the UPS Loading Area, is not, as it sounds (or even as its location in Global Business Park, near the airport, implies), […]

Rainy Day Diving Perks - Sale at Scuba World

One of the most spiritual experiences Ive had is falling off a bangka and plunging into the ocean. With full scuba gear, of course. When I say spiritual experience, I dont mean the light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel type. After the initial hesitation and the first splash when your tank hits the water, theres a tremendous feeling of peace […]

Coffeenista: More comments from the karaoke front

Here’s Nick’s take on Coffeenista. This time we came around for the food. Read the intro and my take on the place too. -ed

Coffeenista. Sounds like Communista. Or Sandinista. This coffee shops name makes one think its a meeting place for subversives in the south. It is, though, part of the club […]

Coffeenista: No need to “Cofeeoke”

This post on Coffeenista is another old relic we dug up from The TIC Blog. This was back in the days when we just went there to have some drinks; I also included another post with Nick’s take on the place, after we’d tried having dinner there as well. -ed

I am so not […]

City Kart Racing - The need for speed in the South

Feeling the need for speed? Then go to City Kart Racing (www.citykartracing.com). This facility/race track has been featured in MTV Philippines and I think in a motoring show in one of the local channels. It’s located along the west service road between the Sucat and Bicutan interchanges (it’s nearer to the Sucat side). You can’t […]
